Marcel Sabitzer (8/10)

Sabitzer came up with two vital goals in the first-half, and his movement before the first was especially brilliant. He was unlucky to have his second penalty kick and hat-trick chalked off. The Austrian international continued to work hard for the team as they tried to defend their lead after the break.

Salih Özcan (5/10)

Özcan replaced Emre Can at the base of the Borussia Dortmund midfield, and did not manage to improve the team's laboured play in possession. His lack of technical quality meant that BVB were slow in their build-up play for the most part. The Turkish international did a fine job defensively in the second-half, working hard to plug any gaps in midfield.

Julian Brandt (6/10)

Brandt looked positive and solid early on, and also helped create a number of chances for his teammates. But he did lose sight of Wöber before Gladbach's first goal, giving the Austrian a free header at goal.
