Özcan was far too passive both with and without the ball. Often overwhelmed by the intensity and pressing of the Mainz players, the Turkish international failed to offer any protection to the Borussia Dortmund defence.

Felix Nmecha (3/10)

Nmecha's woeful debut season at Borussia Dortmund continued on Saturday as he delivered yet another lacklustre performance. The 23 year old was a passenger on the pitch and his decision making in possession was poor more often than not.

Marco Reus (5/10)

Reus was one of the few Borussia Dortmund players who actually worked hard and tried to make things happen in the first-half. He looked more lively after the break, with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Julian Brandt on the pitch. But it wasn't enough to help launch a second-half comeback.
