Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 3-0 defeat to Mainz 05
Donyell Malen (4/10)
Malen did not offer anything of note in the first-half and was taken off at half-time. It was another underwhelming performance from the Dutchman, who could well leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (5/10)
Bynoe-Gittens showed flashes of his quality in the first-half. But more often than not, he wasn't able to follow up his exciting dribbling with a meaningful shot or pass.
Youssoufa Moukoko (4/10)
Moukoko managed to get just 17 touches of the ball and found it very difficult to get involved. He did have a goal ruled out for a marginal offside call in the second-half, but that was his only major contribution.
Jadon Sancho (5/10)
Sancho came on at half-time and had some encouraging moments out wide. But he also never looked like making a telling impact on the game.
Julian Brandt (6/10)
Brandt looked sharp after coming on and played some neat passes as he helped Borussia Dortmund wrestle back control of the game. But that was as good as it got for the Black and Yellows.
Ian Maatsen (6/10)
Maatsen offered Borussia Dortmund more defensive security at left-back after coming on at half-time. He kept the dangerous Brajan Gruda at bay and also caused problems going forward.
