Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid
Julian Ryerson (5/10)
Ryerson struggled to cope with the intesity and energy of Lino in the first-half. But he improved as the game went on and delivered an excellent cross into the box, which Julian Brandt headed onto the woodwork with the final touch of the game.
Mats Hummels (4/10)
Making his 500th appearance for Borussia Dortmund, Hummels did not look too comfortable and was also partly at fault for Atletico's second goal. He had a few sloppy moments against the energetic Atletico forwards, but also recovered well on a couple of occasions.
Nico Schlotterbeck (4/10)
Like Hummels, Schlotterbeck also failed to keep his impressive recent run of form going. The centre-back had trouble coping with Antoine Griezmann and was also at fault for Atletico's second goal, after ducking under Hummels' attempted header.
Ian Maatsen (4/10)
Maatsen made a vital recovery in the second minute to stop a dangerous Atletico counter-attack. But moments later, he gave the ball away in the final third, allowing Rodrigo De Paul to open the scoring. Things got slightly better for him defensively after that, but he wasn't really able to make any impact going forward.
