Borussia Dortmund's limitations came to the fore as they could only manage a goalless draw away to Heidenheim in the Bundesliga on Friday evening.

Borussia Dortmund dropped crucial points in the Bundesliga top four race as they were held to a goalless draw by FC Heidenheim. Missing several key players due to illness and injuries, Edin Terzic's side looked lifeless and disjointed over the course of the 90 minutes. And they were rather lucky to come away with a point in the end, as the home side missed a number of decent chances.

The Black and Yellows did not create much in terms of clear cut chances, with Donyell Malen's first-half disallowed goal the closest they came to finding the breakthrough. With a number of tougher tests coming up in the coming weeks, Borussia Dortmund will know that improvements are needed quickly if they are to meet their goals for this season.

Here are our player ratings from Borussia Dortmund's goalless draw against Heidenheim.

Alexander Meyer (6/10)

Heidenheim couldn't hit the target, so Meyer didn't have any saves to make over the course of the 90 minutes. But he still looked a bit shaky at times, and wasn't always in control.
