Salih Özcan (3/10)

Özcan's poor start to 2024 continued as he was overrun by Heidenheim. The Turkish international was very lucky that his clumsy error did not result in a goal for the home side in the first-half. And he often looked like a deer in the headlights while trying to cope with the Heidenheim press.

Marcel Sabitzer (5/10)

Sabitzer came into the game in fine form, but struggled to live up to expectations in midfield against Heidenheim. The Austrian international failed to offer much in terms of control, and his decision making in terms of passes wasn't always the best either.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (5/10)

Bynoe-Gittens had a couple of encouraging moments out wide, but they were few and far in between. He did have a couple of decent efforts at goals, but didn't look like producing a game-changing moment.

Donyell Malen (5/10)

Malen came close to giving Borussia Dortmund the lead in the first-half, but was adjudged to be narrowly offside. Other than that, he wasn't able to make much of an impact on the game despite having some promising moments in one-on-one situations.
