Julian Ryerson (5/10)

Ryerson had another difficult game, as he struggled to make an impact against his former club. He was too slow in possession at times, and also found it difficult to stem the flow of Union Berlin attacks.

Niklas Süle (6/10)

Süle was solid and did a decent job on his return to the starting XI. He made a number of strong recoveries for his side, without making any big mistakes.

Nico Schlotterbeck (7/10)

Schlotterbeck put in a much-improved display at centre-back and looked more assured with Süle as his partner. The youngster came close to scoring in the first-half, and also defended with great resolve. He stepped in to stop a number of Union Berlin attacks.

Ian Maatsen (6/10)

Maatsen had a couple of really good moments in the first-half, but struggled defensively at times. But he did really well to make the second goal happen by winning the ball, before keeping his composure and finding the back of the net.
