Emre Can (5/10)

Can marked his return to midfield with another sluggish performance. He failed to offer anything to the BVB midfield, other than slow and laboured passes. The lack of support from his teammates didn't help his cause, but he needs to do more in the middle of the park to make BVB a more stable team.

Marcel Sabitzer (5/10)

Sabitzer did not have the best of games and made a couple of sloppy giveaways early on. The Austrian international did help out more defensively. But that came at the cost of him having a limited impact in attack.

Julian Brandt (5/10)

Playing in the number ten role, Brandt wasn't able to make as much of an impact on the game as he would have liked. He got into some good positions but seemed to be lacking the required sharpness to be able to cause problems to the Union Berlin defenders.
