Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 2-0 win over Bayern Munich
Julian Ryerson (7/10)
Perhaps helped by Alphonso Davies' struggles, but Julian Ryerson was able to keep things quiet on his flank rather comfortably. He still came up with decisive defensive contributions whenever needed, before going down the other end of the pitch and scoring the goal that made sure of the win.
Mats Hummels (9/10)
Hummels rolled back the years and came back to haunt his former club. He protected the Borussia Dortmund goal with great tenacity and resolve, and kept Harry Kane quiet for the majority of the game. He also made several last-ditch recoveries for his side, including a spectacular block to deny Eric Dier at point-blank range. Borussia Dortmund simply must do everything they can to convince Hummels to stay on for another year.
Nico Schlotterbeck (8/10)
Schlotterbeck complimented Hummels really well, and came up with a number of crucial defensive contributions of his own. He played with great discipline and made some crunching tackles, showing once again why he deserves to be in the Germany squad for the European Championship this summer.
Ian Maatsen (5/10)
Maatsen struggled at times defensively, first against Leroy Sané and then against Kingsley Coman. But Bayern weren't able to take advantage of his woes. He did make a long-bursting run that nearly resulted in a goal for Borussia Dortmund. But other than that, he wasn't able to make much of an impact going forward.
