Julian Ryerson (6/10)

Ryerson looked a little rusty at times, but still had a fairly decent game as he celebrated his return from injury. The Norwegian international did set up a couple of chances for his teammates, and wasn't asked to do a whole lot defensively. It was also clear that his return to the starting XI made the BVB defence look a lot more stable.

Niklas Süle (6/10)

Süle went about his business without any fuss, and put in a solid shift for his side en route to another clean sheet.

Nico Schlotterbeck (6/10)

Schlotterbeck kept things tight defensively once again, without really being asked to do too much by the Freiburg forwards.

Ian Maatsen (7/10)

Playing in the inverted full-back role, Maatsen set up Füllkrug for Borussia Dortmund's third goal with a stunning cross into the box. He also came close to scoring in the second-half, only to be denied by the woodwork. The Dutch full-back had another solid game and looks very much at home in a BVB shirt.
