Donyell Malen (9/10)

When Malen is on his game, he can be unstoppable. And that certainly proved to be the case against Freiburg as he played in a more central position. Not only did he score two goals, but he also created a number of chances for his teammates. Freiburg did not know how to deal with the Dutchman's threat, and he made the most of it.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (6/10)

While he wasn't able to find the back of the net, Bynoe-Gittens certainly looked lively at times. He forced a save in the second-half, and his close control helped him cause a lot of problems to the Freiburg defenders, even if his decision making wasn't always the best.

Niclas Füllkrug (8/10)

Füllkrug had a birthday to remember as he set up Malen twice before adding a third with a fine header. It was a complete performance from the Germany international, who continues to surpass expectations at Borussia Dortmund.

Julian Brandt, Marius Wolf, Jadon Sancho, Mats Hummels, Mateu Morey (N/R)

Mateu Morey celebrated his first competitive appearance for Borussia Dortmund since May 2021, marking an end to nearly three years of injury hell.
