Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a move for Manchester City youngster Yan Couto to bolster their full-back ranks, and an agreement in principle is already in place with the 22 year old.
Signing a new full-back is high on Borussia Dortmund's list of priorities for this summer, and those in charge have seemingly identified Yan Couto as a potential target. The Black and Yellows are looking to move quickly to secure the signing of the Brazilian international, and Sky Sport are reporting that the two parties already have an agreement in place over personal terms.
Yan Couto played a crucial role in Girona's impressive season
Couto is coming off an excellent season on loan with Girona, and helped them qualify for the UEFA Champions League. In 39 appearances across all competitions, the right-back registered two goals and assisted a further ten.
His performances have seemingly caught the eye of several big clubs, and Manchester City will also be keen to keep him. But with his current contract set to expire in 2025, Borussia Dortmund will hope to sign him this summer.
The report from Sky Sport adds that Manchester City's asking price could deter Borussia Dortmund from making a move for Couto, even if he has emerged as their preferred target. He has yet to play for the Manchester City first-team despite joining them in 2020.
Julian Ryerson is the only natural right-back in the Borussia Dortmund first-team squad at the moment, so it is no surprise that those in charge are looking to bring in reinforcements. Real Madrid and Juventus have also been linked with a move for Yan Couto in recent months.
