Borussia Dortmund show interest in Paris Saint-Germain's Senny Mayulu and Joane Gadou
According to reports coming out of France, Borussia Dortmund have set their sights on yet another Paris Saint-Germain academy product. This time, the target seems to be 17 year old attacking midfielder Senny Mayulu.
Per RMC Sport, Mayulu has already been offered a contract by Dortmund, which indicates that, if true, the club are working very dilligently to have this deal wrapped up quickly. PSG have also made an offer to the player to extend his contract, but he has yet to make a decision. Mayulu has already made three senior appearances for PSG's first team, and the Parisian club are clearly keen to not lose out on yet another talent to clubs from abroad.
In an interview back in January, PSG head coach Luis Enrique sang Mayulu's praises, highlighting him to be a talented and intelligent player:
"He is a very young player, intelligent, with a lot of qualities, who can play with both feet. He can play on the flank or more in the middle. He scored a very fine goal, finishing well, as he's used to doing in training. We want to be able to recruit great players, but also use players from the academy."
- Luis Enrique
From Enrique's statements it is clear that the club value the player, but it remains to be seen what sort of assurances PSG can make regarding first team integration to retain the youngster. The same goes for Dortmund however, as we've seen the club stray away from giving more minutes to youngsters this season.
In addition to Mayulu, Dortmund are also eyeing young PSG's Joane Gadou. The 17 year old is appreciated by Die Schwarzgelben, and could be brought in as part of their defensive restructuring should players leave the club this summer, as an option for the future. Gadou is able to play on either side of central defense but is predominatly right-footed. Gadou and Mayulu are also joined by PSG academy product Ayman Kari as possible transfer targets for the summer.
