Borussia Dortmund face a tough battle to keep Almugera Kabar at the club, with Chelsea seemingly stepping up their interest in signing the highly rated left-back.

Almugera Kabar has enjoyed an impressive campaign with both the Borussia Dortmund U-19s and the Germany U-17s. And he is now said to be attracting the interest of a number of big clubs, with BILD reporting that Chelsea and AC Milan have joined FC Barcelona in the race for his signature.

The tabloid claims that Chelsea in particular are intensifying their efforts to sign the left-back, who turned 18 earlier this week. Barcelona have long held an interest in signing Kabar, and could pursue a move for him following the arrival of Hansi Flick as head coach.

Borussia Dortmund would like to extend the contract of Kabar, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season. The Black and Yellows will be eager to reach an agreement over an extension with the talented full-back in the coming weeks.

According to BILD, talks over a professional contract for Kabar have already taken place and the Germany youth international is also expected to get an opportunity to impress in the Borussia Dortmund first-team during pre-season.

Almugera Kabar has yet to make his first-team debut for Borussia Dortmund, but showed his potential for the Germany U-17s at last year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup. He is also a regular starter for the BVB U-19s, and will hope to make the step up to the first-team in the coming months.
