The UEFA Champions League kicks-off this week and a trip to Belgium awaits Borussia Dortmund as they take on Club Brugge. You can find the latest team news and match preview here.

Borussia Dortmund will be determined to start the league phase of the revamped UEFA Champions League with a win against Club Brugge when the two sides square off at the Jan Breydel Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Nuri Sahin's side will be the clear favourites to get the three points, but the Belgian champions could spring an upset with a number of talented players in their ranks.

The Black and Yellows prepared for their trip to Brugge with a 4-2 win over Heidenheim on Friday. While the Belgian giants cruised to victory against K.V. Kortrijk this past weekend. The two sides last met during the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League group stage, when BVB cruised to 3-0 wins both home and away.

Club Brugge vs Borussia Dortmund: Team News

Nuri Sahin made a few tweaks to his approach to great effect on Friday evening, and it will be interesting to see if he goes with a similarly attack-minded Borussia Dortmund line-up for the trip to Brugge. Nico Schlotterbeck will be available again on Wednesday after missing the Heidenheim game through suspension. But Gio Reyna remains sidelined with an injury.

BVB forward Karim Adeyemi has scored seven goals in his last three appearances (for Borussia Dortmund and Germany U-21s) and will be keen to continue his fine run of form on Wednesday.

We could see some rotation to the Borussia Dortmund starting XI, with one eye on Sunday's trip to VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

Club Brugge will be without talented full-back Bjorn Meijer, who is sidelined with a knee injury. Christos Tzolis will have a key role to play for Brugge on Wednesday. The young winger is coming off a strong season in the 2. Bundesliga with Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Andreas Skov Olsen is another player who could cause a few problems to the Borussia Dortmund defenders. While experienced attacking midfielder Hans Vanaken will look to lead the charge for the Belgian side.
