Edin Terzic knows that beating Real Madrid will not be easy, but he is confident that Borussia Dortmund have what it takes to triumph in the UEFA Champions League final.

Borussia Dortmund will have the opportunity to win the UEFA Champions League for only the second time in the club's history in a week's time when they take on Real Madrid at the Wembley Stadium. The occasion of the Champions League final will especially be special for Edin Terzic, who grew up supporting BVB and will now be determined to make history with the club.

After Borussia Dortmund won the 1997 Champions League final, with newly appointed CEO for sport Lars Ricken scoring the game-clinching goal, Terzic was one of the fans who went to the airport to welcome the players.

"I watched the game at a public viewing in my home town and have also watched it several times since. It was a special day for all Borussians. The next day, I was at the airport with my brother and welcomed the team," Terzic said in an interview with the club website.

Terzic knows that a gigantic task awaits Borussia Dortmund against Real Madrid, who have won the Champions League a record 14 times. But he is relishing the challenge, and is confident that BVB can go toe to toe with the best teams. "Real Madrid is the team that has won the Champions League 14 times. But we know that we've earned our way to the final. We respect the fact that a strong team with great experience now awaits us. But we also know that anything is possible in a game. And this is our chance. In a game, we are capable of beating any opponent."
