Edin Terzic has admitted that Borussia Dortmund still have a long way to go after they could only manage a 3-3 draw in a friendly match against Standard Liège on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund needed an 88th minute equaliser from Samuel Bamba to rescue a 3-3 draw against Belgian side Standard Liège in a friendly match as part of their training camp in Marbella on Tuesday. The result came on the back of Saturday's 2-2 draw against AZ Alkmaar, and Edin Terzic said after the game that his team still has plenty of room for improvement.

"Once again, we are dissatisfied with the result. Another draw. Draws are what got us into this situation in the Bundesliga, where we're now fifth in the table," Terzic said (via Ruhr Nachrichten).

"Nevertheless, we saw a lot of good things that we tried to tackle in training. But you can see that we still have a long way to go. Especially when you see the efficiency in both penalty areas. We have to continue to work on improving these things. Not just till Saturday, but also over the next few weeks."

The Black and Yellows have it all to do in the second half of the season as they look to turn things around in the Bundesliga. Having won just one of their last eight matches in the league, Edin Terzic's side currently find themselves in fifth place in the standings - six points behind fourth placed RB Leipzig.

Borussia Dortmund will return to Bundesliga action this weekend, and they will hope to begin 2024 with a win as they go up against last season's 2. Bundesliga runners-up SV Darmstadt away from home.
