Edin Terzic has admitted it is a shame that only one Borussia Dortmund player was named in the latest Germany squad. But he hopes to see more players make the cut for this summer's Euro 2024.

Julian Nagelsmann announced his squad for the upcoming international break earlier this week, and Niclas Füllkrug was the only Borussia Dortmund player called up for their friendly matches against France and the Netherlands. Edin Terzic feels that some of the BVB players deserved to be called up, but knows that the main goal is to earn a spot in the Germany squad for the European Championship.

During his press conference on Friday, the BVB head coach said: "We think it's a shame as we felt that some of the players deserved to be called up. But the big goal remains the European Championship in the summer."

Mats Hummels, Niklas Süle and Julian Brandt were among the Borussia Dortmund players who were dropped by Julian Nagelsmann. The likes of Nico Schlotterbeck, Felix Nmecha, and Karim Adeyemi were also left out for the final international break before Euro 2024.

Terzic also knows that if the Borussia Dortmund players perform on the pitch in the coming weeks, they can earn their spot in the Germany squad for this summer's European Championship on home soil. "The key lies with us, with our performances at the club level," Terzic said. "I would have liked to see more of our players in the Germany squad. But it's in our hands to make sure that they can achieve their dream and their personal goal."

Germany will begin their Euro 2024 campaign against Scotland on June 14 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
