Edin Terzic is confident that Borussia Dortmund will return to winning ways soon if they keep playing like they did in the defeat to RB Leipzig.

Borussia Dortmund were unable to arrest their slump in form on Saturday, as they fell to a 3-2 defeat to RB Leipzig. The defeat capped off a miserable week for the Black and Yellows, who now find themselves out of the DFB-Pokal and all but out of Bundesliga title contention.

However, Borussia Dortmund did show marked improvements against RB Leipzig and were somewhat unlucky to not come away from the game with at least a point. BVB regrouped quickly after Mats Hummels' early red card, and caused their opponents all sorts of problems. They never let Leipzig gain a foothold in the game, and nearly rescued a 3-3 draw in the end.

Edin Terzic admitted in an interview with Sky Sport that the red card changed the course of the game. But he was also pleased with the way his team battled against all odds.

"You could see from the start how active and courageous we were - we were the better team until the red card. We were also the better team in the second half, even though we had a midweek game, despite the red card and the many absentees we have. The team was very energetic, believed in themselves until the end and tried to fight back against all odds. We did a lot of good things, so if that's the benchmark, I'm sure we'll soon have good results again."

Borussia Dortmund have three more games left to play before the winter break. While the home game against PSG in the UEFA Champions League will be a bit of a free hit with qualification to the round of 16 already secured, BVB will be desperate to get wins against Augsburg and Mainz 05 to end their 2023 on a high.
