Sebastian Kehl has revealed that the whole process for Sebastien Haller's last-minute loan move to CD Leganes on transfer deadline day was done in less than three hours.

Sebastien Haller completed a shock move away from Borussia Dortmund during the final minutes of transfer deadline day, joining La Liga side CD Leganes on loan until the end of the season. The striker was in Bremen with the BVB squad on deadline day, preparing for the Bundesliga clash on Saturday. But a few hours later, the club broke the news that he would be making the switch to Leganes.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl has now given some insight into how quickly the whole process took place, saying that everything was resolved within a very short period of time. "It happened in a very short time. We completed the whole thing within two and a half hours," Kehl said (via Ruhr Nachrichten). "It all happened very quickly. We German clubs are not necessarily used to that."

The hope will be that the loan move to Leganes can allow Haller to play regularly. The 30 year old was expected to be reduced to a bit-part role at Borussia Dortmund this season, following the signings of Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier. And playing regularly in La Liga could allow him to showcase his quality and find his goalscoring mojo again after a difficult 12 months at BVB.

Sebastien Haller, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Ajax in 2022, has scored 12 goals in 41 appearances for the club. He still has two years left on his current contract with BVB.
