Kai Havertz is set to start up front for Germany on Friday, with the Arsenal forward ahead of Niclas Füllkrug in the pecking order for the number nine role. Füllkrug’s Borussia Dortmund teammates Nico Schlotterbeck and Emre Can are also set to start on the bench.

Antonio Rüdiger and Jonathan Tah will play together at centre-back for Germany, with Joshua Kimmich and Maximillian Mittelstädt expected to line up as the two full-backs.

Toni Kroos will lead the way in midfield in what will be his final tournament as a player. Joining him in the middle of the park will likely be Germany captain İlkay Gündoğan and Robert Andrich. Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz will partner Havertz in what promises to be a fluid front three.

Scotland have a number of talented players in their ranks and will be relying on Scott McTominay to set the tone. The Manchester United midfielder has proven to be their talisman in front of goal in recent years.

Andrew Robertson is one of the world’s top left-backs, John McGinn will hope to build on his impressive season with Aston Villa, and Southampton striker Che Adams could be a handful for the Germany defenders.
