Gio Reyna is said to be on the verge of joining Nottingham Forest, with multiple reports claiming that an agreement is close to being reached on a loan deal without an option to buy.

Borussia Dortmund will part ways with Gio Reyna on a temporary basis before transfer deadline day, with multiple reports claiming that the USMNT international is set to join Nottingham Forest on a straight loan deal. Reports add that there is no option to buy, and Reyna will sign a contract extension with BVB that will keep him at the club until 2026.

A number of clubs were linked with a move for Reyna, who has been limited to just 361 minutes of playing time so far this season. But he rejected interest from the likes of Marseille, Sevilla, and Real Sociedad in favour of a move to Nottingham Forest.

The 21 year old was said to be unhappy with his lack of playing time at Borussia Dortmund this season, and will now hope to make a fresh start in the English Premier League. The Black and Yellows will hope that Reyna can make a big impact at Nottingham Forest, before either returning to Dortmund, or securing a move elsewhere in the summer. BVB will not be making any further signings this month following Reyna's departure.

Gio Reyna joined Borussia Dortmund from New York City FC in 2019, and came through the club's youth ranks before making his first-team breakthrough one year later. He has 17 goals and 16 assists to his name in 121 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
