Option 1: Keep the same formation and rotate personnel

Şahin's first option is the obvious one, and that's to keep the same formation and simply rotate the personnel we'll see in the starting 11. Dortmund still has Jamie Gittens, Donyell Malen, and Maximilian Beier who can all function on the wing, with Gittens being a standout performer this season out on the left.

The concerns with this come down to Malen and Beier. With regards to the former, Malen's form has been spotty, with the Dutchman struggling to solidify his spot in the starting 11, seemingly close to falling behind Duranville in the pecking order. With both Adeyemi and Duranville out for the moment, however, this is Malen's chance to re-establish himself in the team.

On Beier's end, we've yet to see him get many minutes, let alone play out wide, so his ability to perform for Dortmund in a wide position is an unknown quantity. While it would certainly benefit the player to get more minutes on the pitch, it will be very interesting to see how he would adapt to this theoretical scenario.

The most obvious winner from Şahin keeping with the current formation would be Gittens. The Englishman has five goal contributions over the course of even games in both the Bundesliga as well as the Champions League (4 goals, 1 assist). It would be in Dortmund's best interest to make sure that, no matter the system employed, Gittens would continue to receive substantial minutes on the pitch to keep the momentum going.
