How Jadon Sancho might fit in at Borussia Dortmund after spectacular return from Manchester United

Borussia Dortmund's need for attacking dynamism
With Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi unable to replicate the form they showed in the second half of last season, Borussia Dortmund are in desperate need of a difference maker in attack. Jadon Sancho can offer the Black and Yellows with exactly that, with his ability to take players on, propensity to find the right pass, his excellent close control, and incisiveness in front of goal.
Borussia Dortmund are the seventh highest scorers in the Bundesliga this season thanks to their lack of creativity and sloppy decision making in the final third. The creative burden has mostly rested on the shoulders of Julian Brandt, who has been the team's best attacking player this season. But other players have either been misused, or have not been able to find their form to help the team on a consistent basis. A forward of Sancho's quality can add dynamism to the Borussia Dortmund lineup and transform the team.
When Edin Terzic was the interim head coach at Borussia Dortmund, he deployed a 4-2-3-1 formation with two defensive midfielders and a dynamic three-pronged attack behind Erling Haaland. Sancho often started on the wing, before cutting inside and operating from the central areas.
While Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has been able to replicate that somewhat this season, he is still very young and needs some time before he can be the team's difference maker week in, week out. Having a player like Sancho will undoubtedly help Bynoe-Gittens fine tune his game and grow further.
