Marco Reus was full of praise of Jadon Sancho following the Englishman's return to Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United.
Jadon Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on a loan deal until the end of the season earlier this week, and came off the bench against Darmstadt on Saturday evening. Making his first competitive appearance since August, the forward showed glimpses of what BVB fans can expect from him in the coming months.
Sancho marked his Borussia Dortmund comeback with an assist in the 77th minute, as he squared the ball to Marco Reus, who made it 2-0 with the simplest of finishes from close range. The goal helped seal a first win in eight Bundesliga games for the Black and Yellows.
Reus said after the game that he loves playing with Sancho, and added that he is delighted to have the 23 year old back at Borussia Dortmund after a difficult spell at Manchester United. "He's a difference-maker. He's capable of scoring in every game because he always knows how to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. I love playing with him - just like in the past. I am very, very pleased that he has found his way back to us," Reus told Sky Sport.
"We can't expect miracles. He didn't play at all for seven or eight months. He's had no rhythm, very little team training, so every minute on the pitch, every training session and every goal or assist helps, because that's what gives you the most confidence. And then he can be very, very important for us because he unlocks defences really well and has an incredible final pass."
Jadon Sancho was suspended from the Manchester United first-team in August by manager Erik ten Hag, and Saturday's appearance was his first since. Borussia Dortmund are certainly delighted to have the forward back in their ranks, and the hope will be that he can build on his promising debut.
