Team News

Leading the charge for the Netherlands will be their Bundesliga duo of Xavi Simons and Jeremie Frimpong. Both players looked lively in the goalless draw against France, and will be eager to make an impact against Austria. Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen will likely start on the bench once again, with Cody Gakpo and Memphis Depay set to feature in attack for the Netherlands.

Marcel Sabitzer will be determined to captain Austria to round of 16 qualification. He will be joined in the Austria starting XI by the likes of Konrad Laimer and Christoph Baumgartner.

The Netherlands do not have any major injury issues to deal with ahead of the game. But Ralf Rangnick will be sweating on the fitness of Gernot Trauner, as the centre-back was forced off after scoring the opening goal against Poland. Michael Gregoritsch and Marko Arnautović will compete for a spot in the number nine role in the Austria XI.

Expected Starting XIs

Netherlands: Verbruggen - Dumfries, De Vrij, Van Dijk, Aké - Schouten, Reijnders - Frimpong, Simons, Gakpo - Depay

Austria: Pentz - Posch, Danso, Lienhart, Mwene - Seiwald, Wimmer - Laimer, Baumgartner, Sabitzer - Gregoritsch
