Nico Schlotterbeck has said that he is very happy at Borussia Dortmund, adding that he hopes to stay at the club for a long time.

Only Julian Brandt (74) has made more appearances for Borussia Dortmund than Nico Schlotterbeck (73) since his move from SC Freiburg in 2022. The talented centre-back has been ever-present in the BVB defence, with his aggressive style quickly making him a fan favourite.

Schlotterbeck feels very settled at Borussia Dortmund. And he has now made it clear that his goal is to stay at BVB for a long time and achieve success with the club.

In an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten, the 24 year old said: "I like the way people are. They tell you to your face what they want from you or what they demand from you. I like the city, I feel very, very comfortable here. My goal is to stay here for a long time and to be successful with this team, this club and these fans."

Schlotterbeck is satisfied with his recent performances in defence for Borussia Dortmund, but is determined to develop into an even better all-round player for the club. "I'm very self-critical. But I also know that I've been very, very solid since the winter. That's why I'm currently happy with my performances. But I also know that I can develop into an even better player. That's what drives me."

The words of Nico Schlotterbeck will certainly come as a relief for Borussia Dortmund fans. The Germany international is one of the most talented young defenders in Europe, and has even been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months. Schlotterbeck still has more than three years left on his current BVB contract.
