RB: Julian Ryerson - The Norwegian has improved since joining the Black and Yellows. Even though he initially needed time to adapt, he is now one of the most important players in the side. The arrival of Yan Couto means that his position isn’t nailed on and there will be competition. But for now, he looks to be the preferred choice for Sahin.

CB: Waldemar Anton- The 28 year old signing from Stuttgart started in the DFB-Pokal game last weekend and in most of the pre-season matches. He is expected to be one of the first names on the team-sheet and will have to handle the pressure that comes with having to replace a legend like Mats Hummels.

CB: Niklas Süle- At the end of last season, there were several rumours stating that Süle isn’t happy with the minutes he is getting and could leave the club. Things seem to have changed now. The player appears to be in great shape and is set to contribute massively to the side.

LB: Niko Schlotterbeck- Despite having a natural left-back in Ramy Bensebaini, Sahin has gone with Schlotterbeck in the hybrid left-back role in recent games. The Germany international has seemingly taken this role in stride, and will look to build on that this weekend. We could also see Ryerson move to left-back, with Couto coming in at right-back.
