Ranking All Borussia Dortmund Special Edition Kits Released by Puma Since 2012
6. 2012-13 Winter/Christmas Kit
Borussia Dortmund first introduced special edition winter or Christmas kits during the 2003-04 season. Goool.de, a subsidiary of the club, was still the supplier of the jerseys back then and it was just a way to increase sales of the brand. It would continue under Nike starting in the 2005-06 season until the 2008-09 season, which was the final year under the American company.
Kappa also continued the tradition during their three-year partnership with Dortmund. Puma decided to follow suit and introduced the 2012-13 winter trikot, used twice during the season. It was memorably worn in the 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena on December 1, 2012. Mario Gotze scored a 74th minute equalizer to salvage the game for Die Schwarzgelben.
The design was simple with a black collar and a big strip on the shoulder. Puma didn't add any unique design on the kit, which is far cry from their bold choices over the past few years. It's last on the list because of its simplicity and it was only made Puma wanted to honor what Goool.de started in 2003.
