Report: Ajax working on signing Julian Rijkhoff; FC Barcelona also interested
Ajax have reportedly made a bid to sign Julian Rijkhoff, while FC Barcelona are also said to be interested in signing the Borussia Dortmund striker.
Julian Rijkhoff could leave Borussia Dortmund this month, with Ajax reportedly interested in bringing him back to the club. According to De Telegraaf, the Dutch giants have made an offer for the talented forward, which is now being considered by BVB. The report adds that Ajax are prepared to pay around one million euros in transfer fee plus a sell-on clause, and the Netherlands U-19s international is also keen on making the switch.
FC Barcelona are also seemingly interested in signing Rijkhoff, but have not yet made an offer. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Borussia Dortmund have yet to receive an official bid for the 18 year old. But a move away from the club this month could well be on the cards after he was left out of the first-team squad for the training camp in Marbella.
Rijkhoff began the season with the Borussia Dortmund U-23s, but did not feature in the 3. Liga before returning to the U-19s squad in September.
Borussia Dortmund signed Julian Rijkhoff from Ajax in 2021. The forward has 65 goals and 16 assists to his name in 81 appearances for the BVB U-19s. He is now keen to make his first-team breakthrough. But due to the high competition for places in attack, it is becoming increasingly unlikely that Rijkhoff will get his opportunity at Borussia Dortmund in the foreseeable future.
