Report: Edin Terzic's future not in doubt despite Borussia Dortmund's struggles
By Tushar Bahl
The future of Edin Terzic is not said to be in doubt despite Borussia Dortmund's struggles heading into their final game of 2023.
With just one win in their last seven Bundesliga matches, Borussia Dortmund are set to go into the winter break all but out of the title race and in real danger of missing out on a spot in the top four. Fan discontent is starting to grow amid the team's struggles this season, and Edin Terzic has come under plenty of criticism in recent weeks.
But Terzic does not have to fear for his job just yet, with WAZ reporting that Tuesday's game against Mainz 05 is not expected to be his final game as head coach regardless of the result.
The Borussia Dortmund head coach still enjoys the full support of Hans-Joachim Watzke. The BVB CEO also publicly backed Terzic at the start of the season, saying that the 41 year old will be in charge at the club for years to come.
BILD further claim that Terzic has credit in the bank due to Borussia Dortmund's strong showing in the Champions League group stage, and their excellent results in the second half of last season.
However, the pressure is starting to pile on Edin Terzic amid the team's poor form in the Bundesliga and early exit in the DFB-Pokal. And unless Terzic manages to turn things around quickly after the winter break, the BVB bosses could well be forced into a difficult decision about his future.
