Borussia Dortmund could reportedly turn to Julian Nagelsmann if they decide to part ways with Edin Terzic at the end of the season.

The future of Edin Terzic remains uncertain, with Borussia Dortmund currently in the midst of an underwhelming season. Former RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann could be an option to replace the boyhood BVB fan if he is sacked at the end of the season. This is being reported by Sky Sport, who add that outgoing BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke is a big fan of Nagelsmann.

However, talks between the two parties have not taken place as of yet with Nagelsmann currently in charge of the German national team. Sky Sport claim that the 36 year old is leaning against extending his contract with Germany following this summer's European Championship. However, a final decision on his future has not yet been made, with a move abroad, and a return to Bayern among the other options.

Borussia Dortmund have long held an interest in Julian Naglesmann, who began his coaching career with Hoffenheim in 2016. Whether he will be the next BVB head coach in case of Edin Terzic's sacking remains to be seen though, with Nuri Sahin another candidate after joining the club as an assistant coach in January.

Regardless, Terzic still retains the support of those in charge at Borussia Dortmund. And his future will likely only come into doubt if Borussia Dortmund fail to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. But a number of big changes are coming to the club off the pitch. And it will be interesting to see how the coaching situation plays out over the next few months.
