Sébastien Haller is facing an uncertain future at Borussia Dortmund after losing his spot as the team's first-choice striker.

The season so far has not gone according to plan for Sébastien Haller, who has fallen behind summer signing Niclas Füllkrug in the pecking order for strikers at Borussia Dortmund. The 29 year old has been limited to just 454 minutes of playing time across 14 appearances. And his only goals came in the first round of the DFB-Pokal - against TSV Schott Mainz. According to SportBILD, those in charge at BVB are concerned over the situation surrounding Haller.

The Ivory Coast international made an inspiring return from testicular cancer in January, and played a key role in Borussia Dortmund's title bid last season. But he has endured a slump in form this season, and the magazine claims that he has noticeably struggled in training sessions - especially in duels.

The BVB bosses internally do not expect to receive a big money offer for Haller next summer. The former Ajax and Eintracht Frankfurt striker still has more than two years left on his current contract with Borussia Dortmund, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

Sébastien Haller will soon head to the Ivory Coast to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations. The hope will be that strong performances for his national team will help him find his form again, and he can then play a crucial role for Borussia Dortmund in the second half of the season.
