Sebastian Kehl: Karim Adeyemi not for sale amid Premier League rumours
Sebastian Kehl has rubbished claims that Borussia Dortmund could look to sell Karim Adeyemi in the summer transfer window.
A report from Sky Sport claimed on Monday that Borussia Dortmund would be willing to sell Karim Adeyemi for the right fee this summer, with the forward having changed his agents recently. The report claimed that Premier League clubs have already made initial inquiries for Adeyemi. But the rumour has now been quashed by BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who has made it clear that the 22 year old is not for sale.
"The rumours are not true. Karim is not on the sales list, that's absolute nonsense," Kehl said during a media round on Tuesday, adding, "We are very happy with him."
After an excellent second half of last season that saw him win the Bundesliga rookie of the season award, Adeyemi has endured a rather underwhelming sophomore season with Borussia Dortmund.
While he has shown glimpses of his quality and has scored a number of crucial goals, he has not been able to perform at the top level on a consistent basis. The forward has five goals and two assists to his name in 33 appearances across all competitions this season.
Regardless, Adeyemi's blistering pace and acceleration have made him a crucial weapon for Borussia Dortmund, especially in the UEFA Champions League. He looks set to start out wide for the Black and Yellows in this weekend's CL final against Real Madrid.
Karim Adeyemi, who joined Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg in 2022, has three years left on his current contract with the club.
