Sven Mislintat considers Dortmund his home, and shares a good relationship with the BVB bosses. But he is not thinking about a return to the club at the moment.

Borussia Dortmund parted ways with Sven Mislintat in 2017 when he decided to join Arsenal as their head of recruitment. Nicknamed the Diamond Eye, Mislintat played a key role in signing a number of talented players at Borussia Dortmund during his time with the club that lasted nearly two decades.

Mislintat still considers Dortmund to be his home, and he is not ruling out the possibility of returning to the club in the future. But he is not thinking about a return to BVB at the moment. In an interview with Sky Sport, Mislintat said: "Dortmund is home. We don't even need to talk about it. The relationship with Borussia Dortmund is not rusty at all."

"Clubs that are in your heart and where you were born, where you worked and where you were held in such high regard, a return is never out of the question. However, BVB is not an option for me at the moment. I've only just finished up with Ajax Amsterdam and now I'll take my time to see what the future holds."

Sven Mislintat was linked with a return to Borussia Dortmund in 2021, but those in charge decided to appoint Sebastian Kehl as sporting director following Michael Zorc's retirement.

Mislintat joined Stuttgart as sporting director in 2019 and helped them return to the Bundesliga. He left the Swabians three years later, before moving to Ajax. However, the Dutch giants parted ways with Mislintat after just six months.
