This summer marks 11 years since Borussia Dortmund reached the summit of European football, when they faced Bayern Munich in the Champions League final. A decade on, no further reminders are necessary about the outcome of that game, but by the standards of that team, it is a stark contrast to the withering lows that the Black and Yellows find themselves in 2024.

In the middle of yet another international break, the pressure is still on Edin Terzic as he looks to save his skin as BVB head coach. Goodwill was afforded to him after the disappointing hinrunde. Yet, Borussia Dortmund still find themselves in a perilous position with serious chances of not qualifying for the Champions League for the first time since 2015/16.

Terzic has been able to get results whenever he has come under pressure. However, a case of rinse and repeat may prove to be a bit too much with the fixture list awaiting BVB in the coming months. The truth is Borussia Dortmund have been abhorrent to watch, and big improvements are needed if a top four finish is to become a reality.

If Borussia Dortmund fail to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League, those in charge could look to replace Edin Terzic in the summer. An interesting coaching merry-go-round is in sight across Europe this summer, and BVB could be a part of that should the board decide that it is time to say their goodbyes to Terzic. We take a look at three potential candidates who could replace Edin Terzic.
