Will Felix Nmecha’s possession issues persist?
Felix Nmecha had an incredibly poor season on the ball last year aside from two matches against Newcastle. While he scored two goals, he was not convincing with his passing on Friday.
He misplaced several passes, though did have one nice ball out wide to Karim Adeyemi. Nmecha will need to improve his distribution to avoid watching Marcel Sabitzer and Kjell Wätjen take his minutes. Nmecha did have a few nice runs through the middle but his passing was an issue.
Sahin clearly was aware of this with Julian Brandt roaming and often deeper once the ball was in the final third. Nmecha even lined up during certain phases of play almost as a striker. It will certainly be incumbent on Sahin to find a role for Nmecha that hides his limitations.
