Borussia Dortmund continued their pre-season preparations with a 2-2 draw against Villarreal on Tuesday, as three players made their debuts for the club.
Late goals from Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Marcel Sabitzer helped Borussia Dortmund come from two goals down to rescue a 2-2 draw in their pre-season friendly against Villarreal on Tuesday. The Black and Yellows had fallen two goals behind in the first hour of this 4x30 minute contest in Austria. But they also showed a strong account of themselves going forward, especially in the second-half of the game.
New signings Pascal Groß, Yan Couto, and Waldemar Anton made their Borussia Dortmund debuts on Tuesday, while the likes of Gregor Kobel, Nico Schlotterbeck, Gio Reyna, and Emre Can also made their returns to the team.
A number of youngsters also got the opportunity to impress and made the most of it, including Julien Duranville, Almugera Kabar, and Cole Campbell.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens scored the pick of the goals, finding the corner of the net with a fine finish from the edge of the box. Sabitzer's goal was a tap-in and came after some excellent work from Duranville.
Villarreal had earlier opened the scoring at the half-hour mark, taking advantage of a sloppy back-pass from Ramy Bensebaini. More poor defending from BVB then allowed Denis Suarez to make it 2-0.
In the end, it was an intense workout for the Borussia Dortmund players as they continued their preparations for the new season. Next up for Nuri Sahin's side is a friendly match against English Premier League side Aston Villa at the Westfalenstadion.
