Signing a new right-back

Julian Ryerson has become a fan favourite this season, and has especially impressed in Borussia Dortmund's Champions League run. The Norwegian defender kept Kylian Mbappé at bay during the CL semifinals against PSG, and his incredible workrate has seen him become a pivotal part of the side.

However, as much as Ryerson has made the right-back spot his own, Borussia Dortmund cannot go into the new season with just one right-back in the squad. With Marius Wolf and Mateu Morey both leaving as free agents, signing a new right-back to add some depth will be crucial.

More specifically, Borussia Dortmund should look to sign a new right-back with a different profile than Ryerson. Someone with attacking attributes, a wide player with speed to stretch the field and good crossing ability would be ideal. Yukinari Sugawara of AZ Alkmaar is someone who could fit into that role.
