The striker situation

The striker position might be controversial, but it will probably be a priority in the next transfer window. Despite having three good strikers in Niclas Füllkrug, Sebastien Haller, and Youssoufa Moukoko, Borussia Dortmund could look to bring in a new number nine this summer.

Haller and Moukoko seem to be the most likely candidates to depart. Both have struggled to find minutes this season, and Borussia Dortmund have been heavily linked with Serhou Guirassy, who has a release clause of around 18 million euros for this summer.

As much as I would love to see Guirassy in Dortmund, and I think BVB should pull the trigger if terms are met, Moukoko cannot be forgotten in the midst of all this. The talented striker has hardly had any opportunities to play on a regular basis, which has been affecting his development.

Despite his lack of minutes, Moukoko has shown his effectiveness while on the pitch, which is why he deserves more chances. Even if Dortmund eventually sign a new striker, sending Moukoko out on loan might be better than selling him outright.
