After a stellar season for VfB Stuttgart, Serhous Guirassy earned a move to Borussia Dortmund, where he proved he wasn’t just a one-season-wonder. Guirassy played a total of 45 matches in Black and Yellow in all competitions this season, and he’s recorded some impressive statistics along the way.
In his 45 matches, Serhous Guirassy recorded 43 goal involvements. That’s nearly one goal involvement in every match! In all competitions, Guirassy scored 34 goals, 21 of them in the Bundesliga where he was only outscored by Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. Guirassy shares the second place in the conclusion of the Golden Boot race with Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrick Schick.
Serhous Guirassy’s other 13 goals were scored in the UEFA Champions League, where he’s all but sealed the Golden Boot, tied with Barcelona’s Raphinha. Unless Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez scores five in the UCL Final, or PSG’s Ousmane Dembele scores six, then Guirassy should enjoy this UCL accolade.
Of Serhou Guirassy’s 34 goals in Black and Yellow, 31 were scored from inside the box, while 3 were struck outside the box. Guirassy scored 21 with his right foot, and 5 with his left. The Guinean also scored 8 with his head. In addition to his goals, Guirassy also recorded 9 assists, 4 in the Bundesliga, and 5 in the UEFA Champions League.
Serhou Guirassy’s most impressive performances include his four-goal haul against Union Berlin and his impressive hat trick against Barcelona. He also scored five braces this season, victimizing VfL Bochum, Celtic FC, Barcelona, Shaktar Donetsk, and Wolfsburg in the process.
Guirassy also stepped up to take a total of ten Penalty Kicks this season, converting eight of them. His successful PK’ were against Club Brugge, Celtic FC, Mainz 05, Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Bologna FC, Barcelona again, and Holstein Keil. His missed Penalties were against Sporting CP and TSG Hoffenheim.
With such a prolific season, it’s hard to imagine anyone would want to see Serhou Guirassy transfer away from the club. Guirassy is a top striker, and I hope we see even more of him next season!
