It was an all-rounder performance from Dortmund's number 4. Nico Schlotterbeck has not only been BVB's best defender this season but also arguably the best player. Period.

From his two assists in corner piece-taking to his incredible ball-playing skills and then to his pinpoint-defending tempo, Nico was all over the place in this match. He looked like this unavoidable entity who was nearly unable to make mistakes or commit any mishaps. Nico was simply executing everything for the team, or better, he WAS the team.

A perfect personification of that was the setup for Adeyemi's one-on-one attempt against Zentner. From his initial recovery at the beginning of the play to his spin and pass that broke a line with three opponents perfectly setting up the counter, that play is what epitomizes an all-around performance. A player who is capable of executing more than one role to a high standard on both ends of the pitch.
