The Black and Yellows finally broke their winless streak, earning their first victory of the year, and qualifying for Champions League knockout playoffs.

I’ve been critical of Guirassy this this year, so now it’s time to heap some praise. In Tullberg’s two games in charge, the Guinean has looked like a renewed player. His performance today shows what an asset he can be to this squad.

His second goal was a striker’s goal, and that’s what he’s paid to convert. The first goal was a result of his instinct, launching himself toward Adeyemi’s ball, ensuring the goal was scored. His link-up play with both Brandt and Beier look like a sign of things to come.

With Tullberg’s willingness to adapt a system to focus on maximizing the attacking players at his disposal, it’s no wonder Guirassy received such good service in this game. If Dortmund were in better form, he’d probably have scored a hat trick.
