Updated Champions League standings with Borussia Dortmund in 11th place

Borussia Dortmund have slipped to 11th place in the UEFA Champions League standings after their 5-2 defeat to Real Madrid.
Matchday three of the UEFA Champions League is in the books, and only two teams still have a perfect record in the league phase. Aston Villa and Liverpool are leading the CL standings with nine points from three matches, with Manchester City, Bayer Leverkusen, and Inter Milan all two points behind.
Borussia Dortmund were leading the Champions League standings after matchday two, but have now slipped to 11th place after losing to Real Madrid on Tuesday. The Black and Yellows made a blistering start in the rematch of last season's final, racing to a two-goal lead. But Vinicius Junior led the reigning champions to a stunning second-half comeback.

It was a Champions League matchday to forget for four of the five Bundesliga clubs in the competition. Bayern Munich were convincingly beaten by FC Barcelona, while RB Leipzig lost to Liverpool, and Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 1-1 draw by Stade Brest. Although VfB Stuttgart pulled off an impressive win against Juventus.
The top eight teams at the end of eight matchdays will automatically qualify for the Champions League round of 16. Teams placed 17-24 will battle it out in a playoff to make it to the knockout stage.
Borussia Dortmund will next be in UEFA Champions League action on November 5 against Austrian side SK Sturm Graz. Nuri Sahin's side will fancy their chances of getting the three points, especially at the Westfalenstadion. FC Barcelona and Bologna are among the other teams that lie in store for BVB in the league phase of the Champions League.
