MF - Mario Gotze

The prized wonderkid of Dortmund at the time, Mario Gotze, had the world at his feet after winning the double in 2012. However, Gotze shocked everyone when he joined Bayern Munich in 2013, though he never fulfilled his potential there. He returned to BVB in 2016, but he was never the same player he once was due to metabolism issues.
After four years into his second stint at Dortmund, Gotze took his talents to PSV in 2020 before returning to the Bundesliga. He has been a vital part of Frankfurt's squad since 2022, helping The Eagles reach the DFB-Pokal Final in his first season. He's in his fourth year with SGE this season.
MF - Ivan Perisic
Just like Mario Gotze, Ivan Perisic is still an active footballer 13 years after winning the double with Dortmund. He's moved around a bit since leaving Dortmund midway through the 2012-13 season, having suited up for Wolfsburg, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, and Tottenham over the years. He's been with PSV since last season.
MF - Antonio Da Silva
After winning the double with Dortmund, Da Silva moved to MSV Duisburg and retired after just one season there. He's active on social media, though there's no mention of what he's doing in life right now. He's made appearances for BVB legends over the past few seasons.
MF - Jakub Blaszczykowski
One of the most beloved players in Dortmund history, Jakub Blaszczykowski remained with the Black and Yellow until 2016. He played three more seasons in the German top flight, signing with Wolfsburg. He then returned home to Poland to help his boyhood club, Wisla Krakow.
"Kuba" officially retired from football in 2023, becoming a part-owner of Wisla Krakow. He also turned into an entrepreneur after his career. He's currently promoting his own brand of perfume on social media.
MF - Kevin Großkreutz
Another beloved member of Dortmund's double-winning squad, Kevin Grosskreutz has had some tumultuous times on and off the pitch since leaving BVB in 2015. He then played for Stuttgart, Darmstadt, and Uerdingen before stints for a couple of semi-professional sides from 2021 to 2023.
Two years after his retirement, the itch to comeback to football has gotten to Grosskreutz. He announced on his Instagram account last week that he was returning by signing with amateur side Eichlinghofen.
