Three talking points ahead of Borussia Dortmund vs Werder Bremen

Dortmund did well without Batshuayi
Michy Batshuayi is missed around the Signal Iduna Park. The Belgium international caught the hearts of the fans and team alike instantly. An untimely injury ended his time at Borussia Dortmund and everyone believed Alexander Isak would take over one last time. Well, a lot of people forgot about Maximilian Philipp as well.
Philipp is a striker and he is more than able to play down the center. He may not be as orthodox as Batshuayi, but he can prove a fine replacement for the injured center forward. Having an extra striker available is the key to Dortmund’s success in the future.
With a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally within BVB’s grasp, Philipp can easily transition in other attacking roles. Batshuayi doesn’t officially play for The Black and Yellows at this time, but his quality sure is missed on the pitch.
Rues, Sancho, and Philipp provided the goals in Belgium’s absence. The team has a whole functioned incredibly well without the Batsman in the end.
