Tobias Raschl

Hailed as one of Borussia Dortmund’s most exciting talents, Tobias Raschl has been at the club since 2015. He has been in and around the first team for the past 12 months, and put in some impressive performances during pre-season in July.

Although he has made the bench thrice this season, Raschl is yet to make his first team debut for the Black and Yellows. But following the departure of Julian Weigl, Raschl’s chance may not be too far away.

Like Weigl, Raschl can play the role of the number six. He is very mature for his age, is a great leader, and does an excellent job of shielding the defence. But not only that, Raschl is also more than capable of having an impact at the other end of the pitch. The 19 year old has two goals and one assist in six UEFA Youth League appearances this season.

He is a great passer of the ball, and has excellent vision and composure. And a good week in Marbella could go a long way in helping the club convince that he can be the long-term replacement for Axel Witsel.

If he manages to impress, there is every chance that Raschl will get minutes in the first-team in the second half of the season.
