Players to Watch

Both teams possess players who have the ability to win games on their own. Even though he isn’t likely to start, all eyes will be on Erling Haaland as he makes his Borussia Dortmund debut. The Norwegian striker will be aiming to make an impact off the bench and help his team get the three points.

Jadon Sancho will be hoping to carry his December form into January, as he once again closes in on double figures in both goals and assists in the Bundesliga. Marco Reus also enjoyed an impressive December, and he will want to lead from the front as Borussia Dortmund look to challenge for the Bundesliga title.

Augsburg have some game changers of their own, who Lucien Favre’s men will want to keep quiet. Philipp Max has six goals and four assists to his name so far this season, and will be a threat with his marauding runs from left-back and set-pieces.

Florian Niederlechner is also enjoying an excellent season with Augsburg. The hard-working forward has eight goals and six assists, and will be a threat to the oft-sloppy Borussia Dortmund defence.
