Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 5-1 Augsburg

The sides last met on the opening day of the season, as Borussia Dortmund came from behind to earn a comfortable victory. Florian Niederlechner gave Augsburg a shock lead in the opening minute. But their joy was short-lived, as Paco Alcacer scored Dortmund’s equaliser just two minutes later.

There were to be no more goals in the first half, but the floodgates opened up after the break. Jadon Sancho gave Borussia Dortmund the lead with a fine finish from a tight angle. Before quick-fire goals from Marco Reus and Paco Alcacer helped the Black and Yellows put the game to bed.

Julian Brandt came off the bench to score his first goal for Borussia Dortmund, as they began the season with a 5-1 thrashing of Augsburg.
