February 08: Away to Bayer Leverkusen (Bundesliga)

Another tough trip, this time to Bayer Leverkusen then awaits Borussia Dortmund. Leverkusen have endured an up and down season so far, but are still in contention for a spot in the top four.

Despite Peter Bosz’ attack minded approach, Leverkusen have struggled to score goals this season. Kai Havertz has struggled to meet the high expectations he set for himself last season, and losing Julian Brandt to Borussia Dortmund has proved to be a big blow.

But with Havertz, Leon Bailey and Kevin Volland leading the attack, Leverkusen are still more than capable of hurting the Borussia Dortmund defence.

Lucien Favre has won all three of his games against Bayer Leverkusen since joining Borussia Dortmund, and he will be looking to keep that record going when the two sides meet at the BayArena.
